The xB started running rough while out doing errands today and threw a code. Turns out it was a misfire in cylinder 1, pulled the coil and the end was wet with oil, looked down the plug hole and the entire well was full enough with oil to drown the plug.
Looks like the valve cover gasket went bad where it surrounds that plug hole. As the gasket is a special order everywhere, looks like I'll be driving the truck to work for a couple days. Nothing says fun like early morning drives in freezing weather in a truck with no heater motor and holes in the floors.

For the truck find a junked school bus with those space heaters in the back and put those in it!

Just be glad you don't have a transverse V6, because those are virtually impossible to replace the valve cover gaskets on because of getting to the back of the engine. I actually have to replace mine, but I gotta get the parts and the time. Your XB should be easy.

At least that sounds like an easy fix.

It has a heater, there is an electrical issue so the blower motor and the switch have nothing to do with each other when it comes to whether the blower decides to run.

My wife had a broken motor blower in her first car, so she bought a little heat fan from Wally World that plugs into your 12V. Won't impress you, but it defrosts the windshield and it's better than nothing.

A V6 in a first gen XB actually sounds kind of cool. Sleeper boX!

Yeah, but they'll either take as long as a local place, or cost me three times for overnight shipping. NAPA should be able to get it in a day or two.
